Many people think that they are proficient in all areas of life. Gradually, reality sets in, and they begin to realize that this isn’t entirely true; we all have weaknesses. Sure, maybe in a perfect world where everyone had chiseled abs and a rabbit’s foot in their pockets, that would be possible.
In the real world, no one can do everything perfectly. There would naturally be things we can do excellently, some things we are just average at, and some things that we can’t do very well. As an entrepreneur, it is almost impossible for you to be good at everything. If you try to do everything yourself, you may find that you would get increasingly frustrated.
That said, there are ways you can turn that weakness of yours into strengths. That is what we would be talking about in this article. Here are five things to do to turn your weaknesses into strengths.

What to Do
- Accept that you’re not perfect. There is no way you can turn weaknesses into strengths without accepting you have flaws in the first place. Most people tend to ignore whatever weaknesses they have, shrugging it off as nothing. They then compare themselves to other people who are better than them at a particular thing, forgetting that they aren’t as good as them. If you want to get past this cycle of comparison and self-hate, then you should admit your weaknesses to yourself.
- Seek solace in others. This is something a bit trickier, but you should not hesitate so find solace in people. However, these people should be individuals that you trust. Before you trust someone, you should evaluate whether or not these people have your best interests at heart. When you find someone really trustworthy, you can look towards them for support, guidance, or even just someone to vent to.
- Make some effort to prepare against your weakness. Even though you have flaws, nothing is stopping you from preparing against it. For example, if you forget things very quickly, then you should use technology to your advantage. It would help if you set some reminders, and write your thoughts down on your physical or digital notebook. There are other examples, but the point is to prepare yourself against your weaknesses. If you keep thinking that you can’t fight your weakness, it will continue to control you.
- If you lack a particular skill, hire someone who can do it. As we said earlier, instead of trying to do something you find hard to do, try and employ someone who can. We understand that you think that this is riskier, but paying someone to do that particular job virtually saves you a lot of time, effort, and money in the long run.
- Look towards improving your weaknesses. Unlike what many people tell you, we are actually born different. A combination of genetics and environment is a large factor that determines what our weaknesses and strengths. That said, instead of accepting your weaknesses, you can improve your skills. You may think that it won’t work, but you shouldn’t forget that you won’t make any progress in your comfort. No matter your weaknesses, we assure you that you can get a little better every day if you put in the effort. Eventually, you would be able to handle these weaknesses and increase your skills.

Our Verdict
You can’t run away from your weaknesses, nor can you change them. Instead, it would do you good to accept them, seek support from trusted people, and look towards improving your skills. If you do all that, you would sharply enhance your confidence in handling future tasks, and set you on a path of massive progress.
