<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced American financier and convicted sex offender, had widespread contacts amongst the rich, famous and powerful. His infamous &#8220;little black book&#8221;, a 97-page directory with names, phone numbers and addresses of his associates, contained over 1,000 names spanning celebrity, politics and business.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">While much has been written about Epstein&#8217;s high-profile relationships with people like Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and Prince Andrew, there are many lesser known connections that highlight the depth of his network. Here are 10 obscure facts about The Epstein List:</p>

<li>Epstein was connected to the Nobel Prize-winning scientist Murray Gell-Mann, known for his work on elementary particles. Gell-Mann appears in Epstein&#8217;s contacts book and flight logs indicate he flew on Epstein&#8217;s private jet in 1999. Little is known about their relationship or why a physicist would associate with Epstein.</li>



<li>Billionaire venture capitalist Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, also shows up in Epstein&#8217;s records. Hoffman later said he met Epstein in an &#8220;intellectual gathering&#8221; once in 2011, but there are no further details about further links between the two men. Hoffman said he regretted meeting Epstein.</li>



<li>Epstein had ties to Cecile de Jongh, the former first lady of the Netherlands Antilles and wife of a former prime minister. Flight logs show de Jongh flew from New Jersey to Florida with Epstein in 1997. It&#8217;s unknown why she would have associated with Epstein.</li>



<li>The grandson of former Secretary of State Dean Rusk, David Rusk, is listed among the contacts. Rusk taught at a New York City prep school and it&#8217;s unclear if Epstein was associated with the school or if there were other reasons for Rusk to be listed.</li>



<li>Epstein associate and girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell had her own high-powered network that overlapped with Epstein&#8217;s list. For instance, Maxwell was reportedly the one who introduced Epstein to Prince Andrew. Maxwell&#8217;s contacts need further examination in relation to Epstein.</li>



<li>Jean-Luc Brunel, a modeling agent and another Epstein associate who allegedly helped procure young women for him, also had an extensive list of well-known contacts that likely intersected with Epstein&#8217;s network given their close working relationship.</li>



<li>The physician Arnold Weinberg had known ties to Epstein and is believed to have facilitated introductions between Epstein and younger women. Flight logs show Weinberg flew on Epstein&#8217;s jet. The exact nature of their relationship remains opaque.</li>



<li>Epstein made a $150,000 donation to the International Peace Institute in 2007 shortly after meeting the organization&#8217;s president Terje Rød-Larsen, a famous Norwegian diplomat. It&#8217;s unknown if Larsen provided anything to Epstein in exchange for this donation.</li>



<li>Prominent NYC socialite Adriana Ross was one of the key witnesses in the investigation of Epstein prior to his 2008 plea deal, but much about her ties remains unclear. Ross refused to talk publicly about Epstein after his 2019 arrest.</li>



<li>Les Wexner, CEO of Limited Brands, had deep, long-standing ties with Epstein that went beyond simple business transactions. Exactly why Wexner developed such an extensive 15-year relationship with Epstein and entrusted him with so much remains subject to speculation.</li>
